The Ulysse Nardin Diver Net Ops is one out of two new dark green divers the Swiss brand launches. This Net Ops refers to “fishing nets” and “operations”, a link to UN’s contribution to reduce the environmental impact when producing watches.

This starts with the case that is made of 95% recycled stainless steel. Then the side parts of the case and the bezel and case back are from Nylo and Carbonium. The first is a polyamide formed from upcycled fishing nets. The second is more or less a variant of carbon fiber. However, made from the offcuts coming from the aircraft industry, which reduces the environmental impact by 40% compared to other carbon composites. It’s all strong, light and gives some special effects like the marble pattern on the bezel for instance.

The Ulysse Nardin Diver Net Ops has a power reserve of 60 hours

Let’s not forget this is a diving watch as well. It has a unidirectional rotating bezel and is waterproof until depths of 300 meters or 990 feet. The Ulysse Nardin UN-118 powers the watch, an automatic with a power reserve of 60 hours. It’s accurate and has an escapement coated in DiamonSil, a patented ultra-high tech form of diamond-coated silicon. Apart from the time the movement offers small seconds and a date at the 6 o’clock position and a power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock.

The Ulysse Nardin Diver Net Ops is available with two different straps – two different reference numbers as well. A khaki green fabric strap partly made from upcycled fishing nets or khaki green rubber strap with black ceramic “Ulysse Nardin” element at 6 o’clock.
