It is that time of year again. Each year Lange gives us an impressive piece which shows their minute craft, also known as The Handwerkskunst. A tradition since 2011. The A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Rattrapante Perpetual Calendar Handwerkskunst is worthy of its name.
A beautiful blue enameled white gold dial with a starry night motif. It is the first time that Lange combines the art of enameling with relief engraving on the dial. The color of the enamel is echoed by the lunar disc as well as the blued-steel minute counter hand. These elements contrast with the four recessed subsidiary dials in argenté-colored white gold.
The starry night is again seen on the back. The operating-lever, cover and chronograph bridges as well as on the rattrapante and balance cocks reflect the stellar motif of the dial.

To conclude the moon theme there is the hinged cuvette that protects the sapphire crystal case back. The medallion shows the goddess Luna, the ancient mythological personification of the moon. The medallion is surrounded by a raised star and cloud relief in blue enamel.
The A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Rattrapante Perpetual Calendar Handwerkskunst is much more than just looks. Lange used the impressive 1815 Rattrapante Perpetual Calendar as its base. A split-second chronograph with a perpetual calendar, including all leap years up until the year 2100. The integrated moon phase will be accurate for 122.6 years. All this is powered by the hand-wound caliber L101.1 with a power reserve of 42 hours.
