It is all about speed with these new Angelus Instrument de Vitesse Indianapolis Blue and Silverstone Grey. They bear the names of legendary racetracks; the chosen colors have no connection with the tracks. They are however a logical addition to the earlier released ebony and ivory Instrument de Vitesse models.

It is a so-called functional chronograph, developed with a specific focus on racing. The design keeps things straightforward as there are sub dials. It is just the central chronograph hand that dominates the dial with a central role for the tachymeter scale on the edge of the dial.

Mono-pusher chronograph

The main function of this mono-pusher chronograph is very simple: timing speed at short events. By pushing the crown, the chronograph hands start, when you stop it, it shows a speed at the tachymeter scale. If you start and stop it when you pass a distance marker. Read more here about how a tachymeter works.

The case is still 39 millimeters, from stainless steel, with a domed dial. The hands and applied Arabic numerals have a golden finish and white luminova. All styled like classic mono-pusher chrono’s with a minute/second track around the numerals and a vintage style tachy scale around it.

The Angelus Instrument de Vitesse Indianapolis Blue and Silverstone Grey have a power reserve of 42 hours

The Angelus Instrument de Vitesse Indianapolis Blue and Silverstone Grey runs on the Angelus caliber A5000. A hand-wound movement with a power reserve of 42 hours. The main plate is circular-grained and has a palladium finish, the bridges are chamfered, also with a palladium finish, and decorated with Côtes de Genève stripes. Furthermore, the wheels are circular-grained with a golden (2N) finish and the screws are polished.

Both watches are limited to 25 pieces each and they come on a color matching strap. Mouse-grey or dark blue nubuck calfskin, with ecru stitching and a stainless steel pin buckle.
