The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Openworked Cactus Jack is a collaboration between Audemars Piguet and the Cactus Jack brand. Cactus Jack is a pseudonym and persona adopted by the American rapper Travis Scott, whose real name is Jacques Webster II. Travis Scott often refers to himself as Cactus Jack in his music and uses the name for various creative projects, collaborations, and merchandise. The name is a homage to his real name, Jacques.
Travis Scott calls it the chocolate AP
The “Chocolate AP” as Travis Scott calls it, is made of brown ceramic, a color that goes along with the Cactus Jack brand. And it’s the first time an AP comes in ceramic brown. As ceramic is relatively easy to colorize. Just like the other Royal Oak Perpetual Calendars, it features a day, month, and date. And these are on sub counters positioned at 9, 12, and 3 o’clock. The day has a hand in the shape of the Cactus Jack logo, and the long red arrow hand indicates the week number.
The eye-catchy thing here is the moon phase at 6 o’clock. The typical depiction of Earth’s natural satellite has been substituted with Cactus Jack’s smiley face. A smiley with its mouth stitched closed. The luminescent coating radiates a blue glow in the dark in line with the blue luminous effect on the hands. However, in contrast with the green luminous effect on the calendar indications on the sub dials.
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Openworked Cactus Jack has a power reserve of 40 hours
Revealed through its open-worked dial and transparent case back is an automatic Audemars Piguet caliber 5135. This movement is adorned with refined decorations. And it has an open-worked 22-carat pink gold oscillating weight engraved with “Audemars Piguet” and “Cactus Jack” signatures. It has a power reserve of 40 hours.
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Openworked Cactus Jack comes on a brown calfskin leather strap with textured jeans effect. It is secured with a pink gold folding clasp, also engraved with the double “Audemars Piguet” and “Travis Scott” signatures. This brown Royal Oak is limited to 200 pieces only.
