For Royal Oakies who don’t like rainbow colored gems here is the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding 41 mm Camouflage Gemset. The camouflage doesn’t make it kind of invisible but due to the color palette it is less showy. But don’t worry, you can still spot it from miles away.
AP just paved a regular white gold Selfwinding 41 mm with either green or blue tones. And not just “paved” but fully paved: case, bezel, bracelet and even the crown. Both models have no less than 861 baguette-cut gemstones (with 179 different sizes) in graduated shades of green combined with brown and black tones, or shades of blue.
What gemstones are used on this Royal Oak?
Take a closer look at the green model and you will see black sapphires, intense and light tsavorites and smoky quartz. This creates these camouflage shades of green, brown and black. All together they are about 39.91 carats, which is about 7,982 grams.
A closer look at the blue one shows graded blue sapphires combined with Swiss blue topaz. Together they are about 44.32 carats, which is about 8,864 grams. No, the hands have no gems, these are just white gold Royal Oak hands with luminescent material. Markers have been omitted.

Underneath all the gems lies the Audemars Piguet caliber 4309, the most recent hours-minutes-seconds automatic movement with a power reserve of 70 hours. It has a rhodium-toned 22-carat pink gold oscillating weight. And of course it is nicely decorated with Côtes de Genève, satin brushing, circular graining, and polished chamfers. All visible through the sapphire case back.
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding 41 mm Camouflage Gemset comes on a white gold bracelet with 577 baguette-cut gemstones. Of course, in a matching color scheme, and the bracelet is closed with an AP folding clasp.
