The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Extra-Thin (RD#3) 37 mm is all about white gold and diamonds. The design is inspired by two RD#3 versions in steel released in 2022 for the Royal Oak’s 50th anniversary. It’s thin, elegant and comes with a tourbillon because when an AP has the RD label, it should be something special.

It is crafted in an 18-carat white gold case, with a bracelet in white gold too. The thickness is just 8.1 millimeters, which is very slim given the fact that is has a tourbillon. In fact, it is the thinnest 37 mm Royal Oak so far. The bezel is furnished with 32 baguette-cut diamond, and the hour markers have diamonds too. 12 in total. The dial comes in smoked blue with a Petite Tapisserie pattern. The blue hue comes from PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition), while the smoke effect is obtained by carefully spraying black varnish while the dial is turning slowly. A nice contrast with the white gold hands and flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock.

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Extra-Thin (RD#3) 37 mm has a power reserve of 50 hours

Inside is an automatic Audemars Piguet caliber 2968 measuring a thickness of only 3.4 millimeters. The transparent case back reveals the movements mechanisms as well as the rhodium-toned 22-carat pink gold oscillating weight, Côtes de Genève and more. The power reserve is 50 hours.

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Extra-Thin (RD#3) 37 mm comes on an 18-carat white gold bracelet. And it is secured with an AP folding clasp.
