The Baume & Mercier Classima Automatic Chronograph 42 mm is a new addition to the Classima line and comes in three new colors. The ref. 10782 has a sand-colored sunburst dial, anthracite accents, and brown-anthracite chrono sub dials. Then the ref. 10783 has a green sunburst dial, slate accents, and slate chrono sub dials. And lastly the ref. 10784 with a blue sunburst dial, gilded accents, and dark blue chrono sub dials.
The small seconds at the 9 o’clock position have the same color as the main dial, except for the dark blue version. That model has a dark blue small seconds sub dial and also gold colored rings around the chrono sub dials. The flange of each dial has a contrasting minute/second track and at the 3 o’clock position is a day and date indication. Of course, it’s 42 millimeters and the case is from stainless steel.
The Baume & Mercier Classima Automatic Chronograph 42 mm has a power reserve of 48 hours
Baume & Mercier did not specify the movement that runs this Classima Automatic Chronograph 42 mm. Which is okay for a 100 dollar watch, but here it has a price tag of around 3k. Just saying it’s a Swiss automatic feels pretty uninspired. However, the layout of the chronograph reveals it is probably based on the ETA/Valjoux caliber 7750.
The case back is transparent which reveals B&M’s code for the movement (BM1137750) which has “7750” in it and at the 2 o’clock position you can read “7750” as well, stamped in the base plate. The caliber has a pretty nice finish too.
The sand and green models come on either a sand-colored or grey-brown Nubuck calfskin strap. The blue model with gold-colored touches gets a blue alligator strap. All with a stainless steel triple deployment clasp with safety pushers.
