Blancpain presents 9 new references for the three-handed Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe in ceramic. Created for everyday wear but still with the capability for underwater exploration, as that is part of the roots of the Fifty Fathoms collection. Its purpose bridges functionality with elegance, making it a versatile option for diverse settings.

The Bathyscaphe line originated in 1956 as a less diving-like alternative to the Fifty Fathoms, Blancpain’s iconic diver’s watch. Designed for urban use, the Bathyscaphe retains its diving heritage while integrating contemporary aesthetics. This model expands the Fifty Fathoms collection, emphasizing usability and robust design.

Aesthetic and Functional Design of this Bathyscaphe

This model features a satin-brushed black ceramic case, offering a balance of durability and reduced weight compared to traditional metals. The case measures 43.6 millimeters in diameter and 13.83 millimeters in thickness. So, it is still on the large side of the size spectrum. It design is in line with the earlier released Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet Phases de Lune. And the new Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Chronographe Flyback Ceramic.

Its sunburst black, green, or blue dial transitions subtly in color, complemented by a unidirectional satin-brushed black ceramic bezel with a matching black ceramic insert. The bezel’s scale is executed in grey Liquidmetal ensuring excellent readability. Furthermore, the layout of the dial emphasizes simplicity. The date function at 4 o’clock integrates seamlessly, while the luminescent hour markers and hands ensure clarity in low light.

Powering this timepiece is Blancpain’s in-house caliber 1315. The movement’s standout feature is its five-day power reserve, achieved through three series-coupled barrels. This extended reserve ensures functionality without daily winding.

Blancpain developed the Caliber 1315 in alignment with haute horology traditions, featuring a NAC-coated 18-karat gold oscillating weight.
