The Bovet Virtuoso VIII 10-Day Flying Tourbillon Big Date is a mouthful like so many other watch names. But it is also a watch that honors 195 years of watchmaking at Bovet.

The extremely complicated watch is part of the Fleurier Grandes Complications Collection. It is not all artisanal and historical references. The Virtuoso VIII 10-Day Flying Tourbillon Big Date also has three new patents that were pioneered by the Braveheart Tourbillon from 2015.

A special nod to the dial makers who have perfected two harmonious dials. The first indicates the power reserve while the second displays the hours, the minutes, and the big date aperture.

The Bovet Virtuoso VIII 10-Day Flying Tourbillon Big Date is limited to 80 pieces

In order to conceal only those mechanisms that would otherwise interfere with the timepiece’s legibility, the surface area of the dials has been reduced to a minimum. While rounded-off and hand-polished attachments straddle the bridges before anchoring themselves to the movement. The Arabic numerals and their graduations, as well as the shape of their hands, have been directly inspired by the historic pocket watches from the Bovet collections.

At the 6 o’clock position there is the final complication, the double face flying tourbillon with titanium bridges. All is powered by the hand-wound 17BM03-GD caliber with a 10-day power reserve. The Virtuoso VIII 10-Day Flying Tourbillon Big Date is available in 18-carat red or white gold with an optional diamond studded bezel. These are limited to a total of 80 pieces. A titanium case edition is available upon request.
