The Breguet Classique Hora Mondi 5727 is the latest interpretation of Breguet’s Classique Hora Mundi series. It is based on the Classique Hora Mundi 5717 from 2011. And it’s a great update.

The 5717 model, still available, has a hand-finished dial with a part of the globe on it. There is a version with the North- and South-American continent, a version with Europe and Africa and a version with Asia and Oceania. Each available in white gold or rose gold. It’s a fantastic piece of art, but looks very old-fashioned on the other hand. This new Classique Hora Mondi 5727 has a dial with a fresh, new look without losing Breguet’s traditions and historical legacy.

The Breguet Classique Hora Mondi 5727 has a complicated but easy to use time zone system

The history of Breguet goes back to 1775. So, it’s not surprising they have some tools and machines from the past, under a layer of dust, somewhere in a dark corner of their factory. One of these is operating again as Breguet uses an old machine to create the hobnail motif on the silvered 18K gold dial and finishes the guilloche completed by hand. It changes the classic appearance of the Hora Mondi to a more modern version, with hints of cold steel and industrial looks. Well, that’s our interpretation, not Breguet’s.

The Classique Hora Mundi 5727 features the same movement and complications as the 5717. It has a rare, instant jumping time zone system that is connected to all the other complications: date, city indicator and 24-hour indicator. One press of the pusher at 8 o’clock adjusts them all. Most world timers are a little complicated to adjust, this is the perfect solution.

The 5727 has a 43-millimeters case and is available in white gold and rose gold.
