The Breguet Classique Tourbillon Extra-Plat Automatique 5367 will not be officially unveiled until Baselworld 2018 in March, but Breguet already wanted to piggyback on all the SIHH 2018 previews. So, they decided to give a sneak preview of their newest creation.
The watch is a new version of the Classique Tourbillon Extra-Plat they introduced in 2013 (reference 5377). That model also measures 42 millimeters, has off-centered hours and minutes, but with a guilloché dial. And a power-reserve indicator. With a case thickness of only 7 millimeters it was the thinnest automatic tourbillon in production. We recently covered the model here.
This time around it is a first for the ‘Grand Feu’ enamel dial, a specialty of Breguet. Like the Reference 5377 it has an opening between the 4 and 5 o’clock position for the tourbillon. Which is off-centered and housed in a titanium cage. The result is a very clean dial with the open-tipped Breguet hands in blued steel as a great contrast.
The Breguet Classique Tourbillon Extra-Plat Automatique 5367 is a little thicker than its brother with reference 5377
The open sapphire case back shows the Breguet 581 movement with a power-reserve of 80 hours. As understated the front side is of the Classique Tourbillon Extra-Plat Automatique 5367, the open sapphire case back is totally different.
The Breguet 581 caliber is richly decorated. The bridges, barrel and oscillating weight are hand-engraved. Crafted in platinum for greater inertia, the latter rotates on the periphery of the caliber, thus providing a clearer view of the movement. And it ensures its slimness of just 3 millimeters in total.
The Breguet Classique Tourbillon Extra-Plat Automatique 5367 comes on a brown or blue alligator leather strap and will be available with a rose gold or platinum case. A price will most likely be announced during Baselworld 2018 this March.
