A watch that is more Breguet than this Breguet Classique Tourbillon Extra-Plat Automatique 5377 cannot be found. At least in our opinion. It is on the top of the Breguet Classique collection.
Just look at the fluted case, blued open-tipped Breguet hands or the soldered lugs for proof. And it has a Breguet invention ‘on board’ as well: the tourbillon. Yes, the watch is extremely classical and thus perhaps a bit too much for some collectors, but take the following into account that might change your mind.
All these features stated above, including the tourbillon, are impressive but not extremely special. The Breguet Classique Tourbillon Extra-Plat Automatique 5377 is special because the movement is only 3 millimeters thick. Tourbillon movements are always slightly bigger than regular movements.

To keep the thickness of the movement down to 3 millimeters (in a 7-millimeter case), Breguet designed a peripheral rotor in platinum, winding in both directions of spin. All with a frequency of 4 Hz, which is high for a tourbillon. Nevertheless, the watch still has an impressive 80 hours power-reserve.
The craftsmanship of Breguet can also be seen in the dial of the 42-millimeter platinum or 18-carat rose gold case. The hours and minutes chapter is enhanced by a clou de Paris hobnail pattern edged by a barleycorn motif. The power-reserve indicator at the half past eight position is decorated with engine-turned strait chevrons, while each element has a crosshatched border.
The Breguet Classique Tourbillon Extra-Plat Automatique 5377 comes on a dark brown or black leather strap with a triple blade folding clasp.
