Six new references for the Breitling Superocean Automatic, in 36, 42 and 44 millimeters, and all with the same movement. And all with pretty good specs when is comes to waterproofness. The 36 and 42 have a rainbow theme, the new 44 is just turquoise. And to make it even more complicated, there is also a new Breitling Superocean Automatic 46 Super Diver model. Which surpasses the specs of the smaller ones.

Let’s start with the new 36-millimeter version. This one is only available with a white dial and white rubber strap and comes with a rainbow theme on the dial. Which means the markers and hands are coated with super-luminova in a rainbow graduation of yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet, red, and orange. It also has a red gold bezel with white ceramic inlay, where its siblings have a steel bezel with ceramic inlay.

Rainbow colors for the Superocean Automatic 42

The four new Breitling Superocean Automatic 42’s come with a black dial and a colored rubber strap. You can choose from turquoise, aquamarine, orange, or yellow, and the dial is spiced-up with the same rainbow theme as the 36-millimeter version.

So, here the hour markers and hands are also coated with super-luminova in a rainbow graduation of yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet, red, and orange. However, on a black background in stead of a white. Some would say it’s more masculine.

Lastly the 44-millimeter version. Also, very colorful despite the absence of a rainbow theme. As the new 44 comes with a turquoise dial combined with a tone-on-tone turquoise rubber strap. Alle the new models are able to withstand a water pressure of 30 bars, about 300 meters and 1,000 feet.

Inside these new Breitling Superocean Automatic models is the automatic Breitling caliber 17, which is based on the ETA caliber 2824-2. A solid movement with a bit of an old-fashioned power reserve of 38 hours. Which is compensated by its COSC certification as a proof of quality.
