Breitling presents the three variants of the Breitling Top Time B21 Classic Cars Chronograph Tourbillon. It comes with a dial in green, blue, or brown and it is the result designs inspired by cars, the Ford Mustang, Shelby Cobra, and Chevrolet Corvette. Which is influenced by the 1960s, the era when these classic cars were first introduced.
The Top Time B21 Ford Mustang features a 43-millimeter bronze case with a titanium back. It has a green dial that mirrors the colors of the first-generation Ford Mustang from 1964 to 1974. Then there is the Top Time B21 Shelby Cobra, with a slightly bigger case, in 44 millimeters. It is executed in black ceramic case, with titanium back, crown, pushers, and buckle. Its blue dial complements the car’s livery, designed in 1962 by Le Mans winner Carroll Shelby.
And lastly, the Top Time B21 Chevrolet Corvette, also in a 44-millimeter black ceramic case with a titanium back, crown, pushers, and buckle. Its walnut burl dial and perforated leather racing strap pay tribute to the steering wheel and dashboard inlays of the iconic 1960s “Sting Ray” Chevy Corvette.
The Breitling Top Time B21 Classic Cars Chronograph Tourbillon has a power reserve of 55 hours
Inside the models is an automatic Breitling caliber B21, introduced last year with the assistance of their movement maker Manufacture La Joux-Perret. It is equipped with a column wheel chronograph and a tourbillon, which is the first time for the Top Time collection. The spinning tourbillon holds important parts like the balance wheel, spring, and escapement in a rotating cage. The movement is COSC certified and has a skeletonized oscillating weight. All visible at the back of the case.
The Breitling Top Time B21 Classic Cars Chronograph Tourbillon comes on a calfskin leather racing strap in brown or blue. And “racing” means it is perforated, which “saves weight”. Necessary of course when you need to shave off a tenth of a second from your lap times. The strap is secured with a titanium folding buckle.
