This Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT Sketch TimeForArt Edition is the brand’s contribution to support emerging contemporary artists. On the 7th of December 2024, there will be an auction for TimeForArt as a part of the Phillips New York Watch Auction. It is an auction that gives you the opportunity to buy a unique watch, as most models offered are one-offs.
Bvlgari’s contribution is based on this stainless steel Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT Sketch, also a limited edition. They made 140 pieces of this kind of weird-looking watch. As the drawings of the movement form the design of the dial.
Special sketched dial
The idea behind the dial is that you can see what the movement looks like at the back. Well, you can flip the watch to see that, of course. They could also have skipped a dial and skeletonize the bits and bytes of the sub dials. So that you could see the movement from the front as well. But that’s not as unique as this sketched dial.
What you can see on the dial is the balance represented between 4 and 5 o’clock, the chronograph column wheel at 8 o’clock, and finishing details on the bridges and gears. And apart from the chronograph with just one counter (30 minutes) and small seconds, this Octo Finissimo is also a GMT. As the sub dial at the 3 o’clock position shows a 24-hour hand.

It is COSC certified ensuring great accuracy. Part of it is visible through the sapphire case back with “esemplare unico 1/1” and “TimeForArt” logo engraved.
