The Octo collection, introduced in 2012, draws inspiration from Bvlgari’s acquisition of Gérald Genta’s designs. Case Design and Functions

This Octo Roma features a 45-millimeter satin-polished titanium case, measuring 11.85 millimeters in thickness. Its open-worked dial, crafted from sandblasted brass with a grey DLC treatment, reveals the intricate mechanics within. The tourbillon is prominently displayed at 6 o’clock, while the hammers and gongs of the sonnerie mechanism are visible between 6 and 9 o’clock.

Equipped with both grande sonnerie and petite sonnerie complications, the watch can chime the hours, quarters and minutes, in four tones. The minute repeater function allows you to hear the time on demand, in two tones. Its four hammers mark the time with a tune composed by conductor Lorenzo Viotti.

Movement and Power Reserve

At the heart of this timepiece is the manual-winding Bvlgari caliber BVV 800, offering a 72-hour power reserve. This movement represents a significant evolution from previous models, featuring a more powerful barrel, a new gear train, and a flying tourbillon. The enhancements ensure precise timekeeping and reliable chiming functions.

On the dial side, there are two power reserve indicators. One for the running time, and one for the chiming mechanism. Both are indicated by a black and red color behind the open-worked dial.
