The most black contribution to this year’s Only Watch is the Carl F. Bucherer Manero Tourbillon Double Peripheral Only Watch. Somehow the brand created a black color that is more intense and deeper dark then usual. And it looks good, although you shouldn’t worry about the readability of the dial.

However, it isn’t all about black as you might have spotted already. The floating tourbillon just under the 12 o’clock position does not only add some transparency, but also some color. Its cage is bright green, and the integrated small seconds hand as well. Which looks very bright on the black of the rest of the parts. Like the 43.1-millimeter case of forged carbon which sits in a titanium container.

The Carl F. Bucherer Manero Tourbillon Double Peripheral Only Watch has a power reserve of 65 hours

The green can also be found on the back of the watch. Through the transparent case back you will see the oscillating weight that is bright green as well. The bridges are black coated, with gray engravings, apart from the green only the rubies show another color then black. The automatic caliber CFB T3000 delivers a power reserve of 65 hours.

What makes the Carl F. Bucherer Manero Tourbillon Double Peripheral even more exceptional is that it relies on a peripheral rotor to wind the movement. The oscillating weight is mounted on the periphery of the movement and not on top or bottom, which would be more common. Then the position of the tourbillon. The classic architecture relies on a cage held in place by bridges. However CBF puts it on top just supported by three ceramic bearings which gives the impression of a floating tourbillon. A nice feature you also might have seen on the Carl F. Bucherer Manero Tourbillon Double Peripheral Paradise for instance. Which has the same movement.
