To celebrate the G-shock’s 40th year, Casio unveils the Casio G-Shock MRG-B2000SG Kabuto Helmet. It is a design inspired by the “Shougeki-Maru: Gai kabuto” helmet, featuring the helmet’s “maedate” crest with an engraved tiger, and symbolic samurai elements. It is visible particularly on the bezel. This G-Shock is limited to 700 pieces, and that comes with a not so G-Shock price. It is listed for 880,000 Japanese Yens, so the prices are converted.
The Casio G-Shock measures 56 × 49.7 millimeters, with a thickness of 18.6 millimeters. Which is quite big, like most G-Shocks. Its case is made of titanium, and ion-plated in a dark silver tone. The bezel is one of the main attractions as it is engraved by a Japanese metalsmith. He creates a tiger-striped design in a rock grain relief pattern. The bezel is secured with four screws made of deep crimson rubies. The dial ring is red, a reference to the red cord straps of the Shougeki-Maru: Gai kabuto helmet.

The Casio G-Shock MRG-B2000SG Kabuto Helmet charges with solar power
Inside is a Casio quartz movement with a solar power system. The watch has a shock-resistant structure, is ISO 764-compliant when it comes to magnetic resistance and can be linked to a smartphone with Bluetooth. Furthermore, all the functions you wish for, are present. From a perpetual calendar to a chronograph. The Casio App with which you can connect helps you to easily adjust your watch and all its functions.
This Casio G-Shock MRG-B2000SG Kabuto Helmet comes on a pure white dura soft fluoro rubber strap. Is 5k a fair price for a G-Shock, even when it is limited? Not given the quartz movement – you will get the same for less than 500. But the handwork on the case and especially the bezel is something unique. And that part should justify the price.
