A grey and green minute repeater, this is the Chopard L.U.C Full Strike Titanium Verdigris, a limited model of 20 pieces only. The Swiss brand has a reputation when it comes to highly advanced striking mechanisms combined with either classic or modern looks.
The latter is certainly the case with this 42.5-millimeter anthracite ceramicized titanium model with verdigris dial. A color that is a bright bluish-green you can also see when copper or brass get patina by oxidation. Another example of a modern looking Chopard minute repeater is the Chopard L.U.C Full Strike Blue Sapphire. And a classic example: this Chopard L.U.C. Full Strike in rose gold.
Minute repeater
The verdigris dial with matt black and grey accents (hands, indexes, minute track) is partly open-worked. Right at the position of the hammers of the minute repeater. The gongs and a part of the strike-work are also executed in matt black with a metalized effect.
On request, by activating the pusher in the crown, the minute repeater strikes the hours, then the number of quarters in a different tone and then the minutes in another tone. To see if there is enough energy, the watch has two power reserve indicators. One for the time, one for the repeater.

Chopard has put a handful of technically advanced solutions into the mechanism of this Chopard L.U.C Full Strike Titanium Verdigris. What to think about a clutch-lever device that blocks the strike-work in order not to lose energy when it captures information about what to strike? Another feature is the ratchet-driving mechanism that enables to avoid pauses during chiming.
The watch runs on the hand-wound Chopard L.U.C caliber 08.01-L8 which seems to be the same as the aforementioned Full Strike models. Although Chopard named the movement of those the caliber 08.01-L. Anyway, the mainplate and bridges are from untreated nickel silver, there is Côtes de Genève decoration and much more.
Certifications for the movement
The level of finish of the movement, which can be seen through the sapphire case back, has the Poinçon de Genève hallmark. The movement itself is also COSC certified ensuring quality and precision. The power reserve for the time is 60 hours, the power reserve for the strike-work is not provided. Both have their own barrel, and both needs winding separately.
The Chopard L.U.C Full Strike Titanium Verdigris comes on a grey alligator leather strap with verdigris alligator lining. The folding clasp is from anthracite ceramicized titanium, just like the case. The price is on request but given the price of the rose gold version from 2016 it will certainly be around a quarter of a million.
