The Chopard Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph JX7 is the seventh collaboration between the Swiss brand and a legendary Belgian racing driver. Jacques Bernard Edmon Martin Henri Ickx, better known as Jacky Ickx is 79 years young nowadays and still one of the most successful racers of all time. He won Le Mans 6 times, has 8 Formula One wins (with 116 starts, 25 podiums), a Can-Am Championship, and a Paris-Dakar Rally win. Take a deep bow.
So, it’s a good thing that brands like Chopard honor legends like Ickx, here with two special watches. They use his name and pay him for that, nothing wrong with it. The watches are inspired on a Le Mans helmet of Ickx, but that’s just for a nice marketing story. There is a picture of a helmet printed on the sapphire of the case back, that’s it. The models have Chopard’s classic Mille Miglia Chronograph design with a date and three sub dials. A 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock, a 30-minute counter at 9 and small seconds at 3.
The Chopard Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph JX7 has a power reserve of 54 hours
The 40.5-millimeter steel version or steel with ethic gold version run on an unspecified Chopard caliber that is based on the ETA caliber A322-11. Which is an upgraded ETA 2894-2, now with COSC certification. It is decorated with perlage and Côtes de Genève and offers a power reserve of 54 hours.
Both Chopard Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph JX7 models come on a midnight blue 1960s Dunlop tyre-tread pattern rubber strap with stainless steel pin buckle. The full steel version is limited to 250 pieces, the steel with gold version to 50 pieces.
