This Christiaan van der Klaauw Grand Planetarium Eccentric Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition marks the 70th anniversary of Sincere Fine Watches and the 50th anniversary of Christiaan van der Klaauw. Sincere Fine Watches is the authorized retailer of over 30 watch brands, based in Singapore and focusing on the Asian market. And one of the brands they sell is CVDK. That recently released a stunning Grand Planetarium Eccentric.

This new edition, limited to three pieces, is technically the same however it has a very special dial. So, if you want to know all the technical details of this special planetarium, read our story about the Christiaan van der Klaauw Grand Planetarium Eccentric Manufacture.

Oil-painted dial

This CVDK Grand Planetarium belongs to CVDK’s line of astronomical watches, known for capturing cosmic complexities on the wrist. The Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition stands out with its unique dial, designed exclusively for this occasion. This dial, oil-painted by artist Gaël Colon, is inspired by a prototype conceptualized by CVDK. Colon created more dials for the brand, like the one for this Christiaan van der Klaauw Real Moon Joure Horizon.

The intricate design for this Sincere Platinum features real-time orbits of Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. The Zodiac signs are also displayed along the dial’s periphery, enhancing the celestial theme.

Yellow gold case

This limited edition comes with a yellow gold case, 44 millimeters, and has a refined engraving of the Sincere Platinum Jubilee emblem on the side. The same engraving can also be found on the sapphire crystal case back, serving as a fitting tribute to this celebration.

The Breguet-style hour and minute hands match the color of the case, and the hour markers are engraved in sapphire crystal. Compared to the “standard” Grand Planetarium Eccentric the watch comes even more to life with the mesmerizing colors of the dial.

The power reserve of the Christiaan van der Klaauw Grand Planetarium Eccentric Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition is 60 hours

The movement powering the Grand Planetarium Eccentric Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition is CVDK’s new in-house caliber. It is the caliber CKM-01 with a Grand Planetarium Eccentric module on top. This movement was developed over several years and made its debut in 2024, aligning with CVDK’s 50-year legacy of astronomical complications.

It includes a variable-inertia balance wheel and a free-sprung hairspring, designed for enhanced accuracy and reliability. Decorative details such as star-shaped bridges and circular finishing emphasize the artistic craftsmanship. While the movement’s frosted star motif and perlage on the main plate add further visual appeal. This watch offers a power reserve of 60 hours.
