The Citizen Promaster Diver Fujitsubo 35th Anniversary Limited Edition celebrates 35 years of the Promaster line. And it is named after an old diving watch that was found in 1983, at the bottom of the sea. This Citizen Challenge Diver spend a long time in the Pacific Ocean, nearby Australia. When it was found there were two remarkable things.
The first thing is that it looked like a rock instead of a diver. And second, after winding, it still worked. No wonder Citizen put it on display at their museum in Tokyo. And no wonder that they named a lot of divers after the barnacles (in Japanese that’s “fujitsubo”) that have grown on their old diver. This Citizen Promaster NB6025-59H Black Fujitsubo is another example of a fujitsubo model.
The Citizen Promaster Diver Fujitsubo 35th Anniversary Limited Edition has a power reserve of 42 hours
So, the design of this new Promaster Diver Fujitsubo is based on the barnacle one, but then without the barnacles. It’s a retro-looking modern diver with an automatic Citizen caliber 9051 delivering a power reserve of 42 hours. By the way, it’s a movement by Miyota, which is owned by Citizen.
The Citizen Promaster Diver Fujitsubo 35th Anniversary Limited Edition measures 41 millimeters and has a Super titanium case. An extra hard titanium, here with a platinum DLC coating for some more silver tones. The bracelet is from the same material and the watch is limited to 4,500 pieces.
