Camouflage print seems to be very trending so the Eberhard & Co. Contograf Special Edition must be very trending too. Green, camouflage print, green leather strap. The Eberhard & Co. Contograf dates back to the sixties, when the model was introduced as a derivative of classic diving watches. From that moment it is one of the bestselling models of Eberhard & Co. In 2014 they released their latest model of the Contograf.

This newest model from 2014 is the basis for this Contograf Special Edition which is limited to 99 pieces. The most characteristic feature of this Contograf Special Edition is the dial in camouflage print. Not only for military purposes, it is trendy and fashionable these days.  Details of the original features of the Contograf from the sixties has been retained, though the hand-wound movement is replaced by the caliber 8147, a base Valjoux 7750 chronograph caliber.

New movement for the Eberhard & Co. Contograf Special Edition

The Eberhard & Co. Contograf Special Edition models have two green markers and a trapezoidal date window at the 6 o’clock position. The ceramic bezel on the case of 42 millimeters has a 12-hour scale, and it is either green or black. A ring inside sports a tachymeter scale. The back plate is screwed and engraved with the words “Special Edition”.

The new edition is available with a leather strap or a NATO strap in army green, but you can also order the model with a strap of stainless steel. Nice detail: the minute counter at the 3 o’clock position counts up to three minutes, a dexterity from the sixties in order to make a telephone call not last longer than 3 minutes. Longer calls were more expensive.
