The Eberhard & Co. Traversetolo & Traversetolo Vitré Blue Dial are the same model, but the Vitré, French for “window”, has a sapphire case back. The non-Vitré has a solid case back. The Traversetolo is named after an Italian town nearby Parma and the model was already launched in 1996 as one of the brand’s watches with a larger case.
Its case measures 43 millimeters in diameter, which can be considered large these days. As most brands tend to go “back” to the 38 to 41 millimeters. So, what’s new for this Traversetolo is the blue dial. It is executed in polished powder blue forming a nice contrast with the white indexes and hands.
The Eberhard & Co. Traversetolo & Traversetolo Vitré Blue Dial have a power reserve of 46 hours
Inside the model is a hand-wound ETA caliber 6498-1, with Unitas roots and originally developed for pocket watches. It’s pretty dated and beats at a slower rate so the power reserve is a “modern” 46 hours. But don’t get us wrong, “dated” doesn’t say anything about the quality of this caliber. In fact, it is one of the most used hours-minutes-small seconds movements on the planet, reliable with a vintage touch.
The Eberhard & Co. Traversetolo & Traversetolo Vitré Blue Dial come on a soft touch powder blue vintage leather strap, with a steel buckle. However, it is also available with a stainless steel “Chaland” bracelet with deployment clasp. The prices mentioned are for the Vitré versions, so with sapphire case back. The model with a solid case back will be a little less expensive.
