The last watch of the start of a new chapter of the revived Swiss brand is the Favre Leuba Chief Date, part of the new Chief series. It might be the start of a new period for the brand after having sailed rough seas with different owners and failed relaunches over the last four decades. The 40-millimeter stainless steel case is comparable with the 41-millimiter Favre Leuba Chief Chronograph. That model is inspired by the 1970 Favre-Leuba Chrono Valjoux 23 ref. 30233, a cushion-shaped bi-compax chronograph from which the forms come back in this new Chief Date as well. Available with a black, blue or green tapestry stamped dial with semi-glossy sunray finish. The tapestry has the shape of the brand’s logo.

The Favre Leuba Chief Date has a power reserve of 68 hours

The movement of the Favre Leuba Chief Date is the La Joux-Perret caliber G100 type A012, which is the top grade for this movement by LJP. It has Côtes de Genéve, blued screws, and a bunch of French finishing terms like pearlage, soleillè, diamanté and cerclé. Which means the finish of this 60-hour power reserve caliber is excellent. Moreover, the skeletonized rotor is executed in 4N PVD with engraved Favre Leuba monogram and soleillage. All viewable through the sapphire case back.

The watch comes on an integrated two-link steel bracelet with butterfly clasp or a dial color matching FKM rubber strap with steel pin buckle. The bracelet adds about a 100 to the prices.
