The Gerald Charles Maestro 8.0 GC Sport Squelette is the first member of the Maestro 8.0 collection executed in titanium. The design comes from the late Gérald Genta, who is an iconic designer when it comes to watches. He worked for brands like Audemars Piguet, IWC, Omega, Patek Philippe and Universal Genève and has a few notable watches on this name. This Maestro goes back to 2006. And this new one also has the characteristics of current line-up of the brand. Which means an asymmetrical case and an open-worked or skeletonized dial.
This new watch is executed in a 39-millimeter grade 5 titanium case, sandblasted, with an open-worked dial. You can see the sandblasted bridges with polished anglage, the rhodium plating silver color and the blue screws. There are baton-shaped hands filled with white super-luminova light-up blue in the dark. Furthermore, there is a blue minute track on the edge of the dial.
The Gerald Charles Maestro 8.0 GC Sport Squelette has a power reserve of 50 hours
In the center of the watch is an automatic Gerald Charles caliber GCA 5482 which is rotated 180° to get the crown on the left. Because of this, the balance wheel is now positioned at 1 o’clock. It has an Incabloc anti-shock system, tennis players have tested the shock absorbance. With the crown on the left, it is a decent sport watch, the crown won’t rub your wrist. And the total weight of the watch is not even 60 grams, so you won’t even notice you are wearing a watch.
The Gerald Charles Maestro 8.0 GC Sport Squelette comes on a Royal blue vulcanized rubber strap. It is secured with a sandblasted grade 5 titanium buckle with a GC logo engraved.
