For all wine lovers, this is the Girard-Perregaux 1966 Château Latour Edition, named after a winehouse in the Médoc region of France. Château Latour – translated meaning “Tower Castle” – was founded in 1331 and since 1855 they produce one of five Premier Crus Classés from the region. If you like red, you cannot go wrong with this excellent wine.

Making wine is all about the perfect grapes. The climate and the soil are among the most important aspects of making quality wines. At Château Latour the climate is mild, the soil has a lot of pebbles. Reflecting the sunlight and adapting the heat, for instance. And now the wine lovers of Girard-Perregaux walk in as you can create a dial out of a pebble.

Artisans of GP cut and grind light colored pebbles up to a thickness of 0.45 millimeters and mount them to a brass base. It gives strength and each dial has a unique structure and pattern, small fissures, hollows and inclusions. After making a small date hole in it, it is embraced by a 40-millimeter pink gold case leading to a subtle and unique dress watch.

Inside runs the automatic Girard-Perregaux caliber GP03300-2180 with a power reserve of 46 hours. It has high-end finishing with Côtes de Genève, blued screws and gold engravings for instance. The oscillator weight is executed in solid 18k gold and it’s all viewable through the transparent case back. Which has a metallization of the Château Latour logo.

The Girard-Perregaux 1966 Château Latour Edition comes on a brown alligator strap with pink gold pin buckle. And the watch, part of GP’s 1966 collection, is limited to 18 pieces only. You will get a nice box with it, including an extra pebbles from Latour.
