Girard-Perregaux has launched two new models dedicated to Japan, and this Laureato Chronograph Aiiro Japan Limited Edition is one of them. It’s an automatic chronograph, with “Aiiro” dial, Japanese for “indigo”, a blue color variant. The other Aiiro model is the Girard-Perregaux Laureato Aiiro Japan Limited Edition, an automatic three-hander with date.
Where the latter comes in stainless steel, this Laureato Chronograph comes in titanium. Therefor it is a little darker than the steel Aiiro. Another difference, apart from its movement and functionality, is the case back. Sapphire for the steel three-hander, solid (titanium or steel, that is not specified) screwed for this chronograph.
Aiiro dial
As said, the dial is indigo or aiiro, pronounced as “arrow”, here with a Clous de Paris or hobnail pattern. The sub dials are black with a circular pattern. Small seconds at the 3 o’clock position, a 12-hour totalizer at 6 and a 30-minute totalizer at 9 o’clock. Between 4 and 5 is a small date window.
The hands form a nice contrast with the main dial and a match with the sub dial. Executed in anthracite for the hours and minutes, with luminova, and steel toned for the central chronograph seconds hand, the small seconds hand and the chronograph counter hands. The flange of the dial shows a minute/second track with applied anthracite hour markers with luminova.

The movement Girard-Perregaux Laureato Chronograph Aiiro Japan Limited Edition is the Girard-Perregaux caliber GP03300-2180. An automatic with a power reserve of 46 hours, and finished with Côtes de Genève, chamfering and straight graining.
This titanium Laureato Chronograph Aiiro is limited to 100 pieces and comes on a titanium bracelet with titanium triple folding buckle with micro-adjustment system.
