This Hamilton American Classic PSR 74 draws its heritage from the original Hamilton Pulsar, a watch that redefined digital timekeeping in the 1970s. Released in 1972, the Pulsar introduced the world to digital wristwatches, setting a technological milestone. The new PSR 74, with its updated design and functionality, nods to the Pulsar Cushion model from 1974, echoing the boldness of the original while incorporating modern technology.

The PSR 74 retains key features that echo the original Hamilton Pulsar, with a cushion case design that maintains its bold and distinctive silhouette. Notably, it features a hybrid display combining LCD and OLED technologies, allowing for high contrast and vibrant display quality, enhancing readability in various lighting conditions.

Switching between time and date

The time and date are easily visible on the screen, supported by dual push buttons for intuitive control. The American Classic PSR 74 also allows 12- or 24-hour time settings for added flexibility. It measures 25.6 by 30.9 millimeters, with a height of 12.4 millimeters, providing a compact but distinct presence on the wrist.

The model is available in stainless steel or stainless steel with yellow gold PVD coating. The watch face is protected by sapphire crystal glass with double anti-reflective coating, ensuring scratch resistance and glare reduction. The display shows red-digit numerals.

The Hamilton American Classic PSR 74 runs on a quartz movement with high accuracy

Inside, the PSR 74 is powered by the Hamilton caliber H-40e quartz movement, known for its reliability and precision. Its deviation is only one minute per year. It reflects decades of expertise in quartz technology and has a unique place in Hamilton’s history, as the brand introduced the first LED digital watch in the 1970s.

Completing the American Classic PSR 74 is its bangle-style bracelet, available in both stainless steel and gold PVD-coated finishes. The bracelet tapers from the case, creating a streamlined profile that complements the watch’s angular lines. With prices between 700 to 900, it is just a cool, vintage quartz with perfect a display.
