The Hanhart Austrian Airforce AW169M Limited Edition is a result of a collaboration between the Swiss brand and the Austrian Air Force. As AW169M is a type of helicopter used by the Austrian Air Force. It is the Leonarde AW169M, a twin-engine, 10-seater, 4.8t helicopter. Which is developed and manufactured by the helicopter division of the Italian manufacturer Leonardo. That’s it about helicopters, let’s go back to the watch.
This Hanhart has a 45-millimeter stainless steel case that comes in two versions. One with a fluted bezel and one with a flat or smooth bezel. The fluted one has a red marker on top. Both models feature a dark green dial reflecting an army-like green color. Apart from the brand’s historic logo at 12 o’clock there is another eye-catcher at 6. An image of the “Helix Pteron”, a helicopter-like machine also known as the aerial screw, invented by Leonardo da Vinci. The Italian polymath sketched a model in one of his manuscripts, presumably around the 1480s…
The Hanhart Austrian Airforce AW169M Limited Edition has a power reserve of 42 hours
The timepiece is a mono-pusher chronograph and runs on the renewed automatic ETA caliber 7750. It has La-Joux-Perret modification and Hanhart converted it into a mono-pusher. Furthermore, the movement has a power reserve of 42 hours and provides small seconds and a 30-minutes totalizer in a bi-compax set-up.
The Hanhart Austrian Airforce AW169M Limited Edition comes either on a vintage dark brown calfskin leather strap in two sizes (ref. 5110 or 5112). This strap has white stitching and a stainless steel pin buckle. You can also get it on a stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp. The model is limited to 100 pieces; 50 for the fluted bezel and another 50 for the flat bezel.
