The Hublot Big Bang Ferrari Unico is updated, just like Ferrari’s sometimes need a facelift. The case, pushers, and dial got some cosmic changes so that the Big Bang Ferrari Unico is completely fresh again. And fresh means: ready to sell the next series of limited editions.
The partnership between the Italian car manufacturer and the Swiss watch manufacturer started in 2011. The next year Hublot launched the first Big Bang Ferrari (with reference numbers starting with 401) and more than ten variations came on the market ever since. All limited editions of course, from 250 to 1,000 pieces, and two of those are still in Hublot’s collection (Titanium Carbon and King Gold Carbon).

So, what are the updates? The bezel now has countersunk notches for the screws, the crown is restyled and the pushers are more smooth and set into the case. And there is a red line on the pushers that continues on the crown. The size of the case is unchanged: still 45 millimeters. The dial has been redesigned and it looks much more clear and clean now. The contrasts between the colors is better, which makes it easier to read and the typo has had some refreshment. All details are inspired by and/or in line with Ferrari’s latest models.
The Hublot Big Bang Ferrari Unico 2016 comes with three different case materials: titanium, king gold and carbon
Unlike new Ferrari’s, inside nothing has changed. It still features the Unico automatic movement with flyback chronograph and 72 hours of power-reserve. The 2016 Big Bang Ferrari Unico comes in three variations. A titanium model (1,000 pieces), a king gold model (500 pieces) and an uni-directional carbon model (500 pieces). Yes, limited editions sell better. But the question is: should you limit every other dial color or case material?
