Hublot introduces the Big Bang Unico Carbon Canada, a limited-edition timepiece that pays homage to Canada’s national identity. This model is available exclusively in Canada and limited to just 50 pieces. And it is sold only at the Hublot boutiques in Toronto and Vancouver. Is it a new trend after this Hawaïi only Hublot Big Bang Unico ‘O Ka Mua for instance?
This new Big Bang has a 42-millimeter case crafted from black frosted carbon, and the watch carries symbolic meaning through its red and white accents. These hues, reminiscent of Canada’s flag, connect directly to the nation’s natural beauty, such as snowy landscapes and autumn foliage. The Canadian maple leaf, an enduring national symbol, is prominently displayed on the case back, reinforcing the cultural connection.
Open-worked dial
The open-worked dial shows a part of the mechanics inside the watch, with the movement, and on top of that the date wheel. At the 3 o’clock position, the actual date is surrounded by a matt black sub dial forming the 60-minute totalizer of the chronograph. The small seconds are at 9.
The large matt black hands are skeletonized with red super-luminova fill, and the central chronograph seconds hand is also red. Same for the flanges of the sub dials and the lume on the small hands. The hour markers are red and white, the flange with the minute/second track as well.
The Hublot Big Bang Unico Carbon Canada has a power reserve of 72 hours
Almost all, if not all, Big Bang chronographs run on the Hublot caliber HUB1280, an automatic with a flyback column-wheel chronograph. It provides a power reserve of 72 hours and can also be admired through the sapphire case back.
Hublot emphasizes sustainability with its Greenbox case packaging for this Big Bang Unico Carbon Canada. The Greenbox is crafted from responsibly sourced oak, and 98% of its interior is made from eco-friendly and recycled materials.
