The Hublot Big Bang Unico Hublot Sailing Team goes back to Hublot’s maritime roots that started in 2004. In that year the Swiss brand reveals the Hublot Subaquaneus, a bold 40-millimeter diver that could take you under water down to 2,000 meters or 6,600 feet. And it’s nice to now that “Hublot” is French for “porthole”, another maritime touch.

Hublot is sponsor of the Swiss professional sailor Alan Roura for whom they have created this new Big Bang Unico. Roura sails in a yacht governed by the International Monohull Open Class Association (IMOCA) with sail number SUI 7. Which can be found on the counter at the 9 o’clock position, together with a Swiss flag.

Colors of the 1980s Hublot Classic Original watch

Alan Roura’s boat is black with yellow, which is a nod to the colors of the 1980s Hublot Classic Original watch. So, these colors can also be found on this watch. The shiny carbon fiber case, 42 millimeters, bezel and back are executed in black, and so is the open-worked dial.

Furthermore, there are yellow accents on the minute/seconds track on the dial and the tip of the chronograph seconds hand. And the sub dials have yellow as well, for the numerals and indexes. Large skeletonized hour and minute hand with white luminova together with large numerals and hour markers, with white luminova too, make the watch easy to read.

The Hublot Big Bang Unico Hublot Sailing Team has a power reserve of 72 hours

The movement of the Hublot Big Bang Unico Hublot Sailing Team is the Hublot caliber HUB1280. An automatic with flyback column-wheel chronograph providing a power reserve of 72 hours. It’s visible through the sapphire porthole on the case back, with yellow accents on the surrounding carbon fiber.

This Unico Hublot Sailing Team comes on a black fabric with Velcro strap and white Hublot logo print. Additionally you will also get a yellow/black lined structured rubber strap. The model is limited to 100 pieces, with the number printed on the case back. The price tag of this Hublot Sailing Team model is around 20 to 26k.
