Quite a mouthful, but the Hublot Classic Fusion Aerofusion Chronograph Orlinski Titanium is the latest collaboration for Hublot. This time French contemporary sculptor Richard Orlinski joins the Hublot family. A family that already consists of Lapo Elkann, Pelé, Lang Lang, Bar Refaeli and Usain Bolt.
The watch is inspired by Orlinski’s angular sculptures and Pop Art style, ranging from gorillas, jaguars to crocodiles. His works, or ‘beasts’, can be seen all over the world. Perhaps you know his immense ‘Wild Kong’ gorilla sculpture on the Croisette in Cannes. Or his crocodiles in the sunshine of the Miami Design District. Maybe his 5-meter-tall bear on the snowy ski-slopes of Courchevel?
The Hublot Classic Fusion Aerofusion Chronograph Orlinski Titanium will also be available with a ceramic case
Elements of those works can be seen in the angles and reflections of the 45-millimeter titanium case. The mirroring effect gives a nice twist on the Classic Fusion without losing the Hublot look.
The watch is not very subtle, especially with the open-worked and sapphire dial, but that is what Hublot is all about. Inside is the HUB1155 chronograph movement, which beats at 4 Hz and has a power-reserve of 42 hours.
The Hublot Classic Fusion Aerofusion Chronograph Orlinski Titanium is limited to 200 pieces and comes on a black rubber strap. There will also be a blue full ceramic edition which is also limited to 200 pieces.
