Most people use concrete to build houses and offices, but there is a Swiss watch brand that builds watches with concrete. This is the Hublot Classic Fusion Aerofusion Chronograph Special Edition Concrete Jungle.

The watch is a tribute to New York City and co-designed by visionary street artist and former New Yorker, Tristan Eaton. That’s the link with concrete. As Hublot has a reputation of using aberrant materials to create watches, it is no wonder that at some point they would use concrete. There are rumors that the next material will be yogurt. Anyway, it is not entirely made of concrete. In fact, only the bezel has a concrete ring which is hardened with an epoxy resin. It looks cool, rough, with lots of street cred.

The Hublot Classic Fusion Aerofusion Chronograph Special Edition Concrete Jungle is another amazing way of using new materials

The 45-millimeter case is from microblasted black ceramic. So are the crown and pushers. Inside is Hublot’s caliber HUB1155, a self-winding skeletonized movement with chronograph and date. It supplies 42 hours of power and can only be seen through the dial side. The movement is not new, but it still looks cool. As well.

Through the case back window you can see a miniaturized version of a graffiti art piece made by Tristan Eaton. It is titled “Liberty” and was painted in September 2012 at the corner of Mulberry and Canal Streets in New York’s Little Italy. A showcase of the artist’s signature collage technique, and we hope he had permission to paint his stuff at that corner. It’s yet another cool thing of this watch.

Be quick: the Hublot Classic Fusion Aerofusion Chronograph Special Edition Concrete Jungle is limited to 50 pieces and available exclusively in Hublot’s two New York City boutiques.
