The Hublot MP-15 Takashi Murakami Tourbillon Only Watch is Hublot’s contribution for the 10th biennial charity auction of Only Watch. This extraordinary time piece is designed by Hublot in collaboration with Takashi Murakami. He is a Japanese artist known for his art work that often shows flowers. Which is shown by the 12-petalled daisy-like design of the watch. Normally we wouldn’t feature a bling-model like this but there is something interesting going on in the heart…

That’s the central tourbillon. But first let’s take a look at the design. It is formed as 12 petals and decorated with 444 rainbow-colored gemstones, with a color green at the edge, which symbolizes hope. The case is fully made of sapphire crystal and measures 42 millimeters, with a thickness of 13.4 millimeters. The bezel on which the gemstones are applied is stainless steel. Which means that for reading the time you have to look at the tourbillon with its colored super-luminova black-plated appliques.

The central tourbillon is also what makes this watch really special. It’s a first-time feature for Hublot to place a tourbillon in the center of the watch. Because normally that part is claimed by central hands. So for this solution, Hublot developed a tourbillon with a kind of integrated hour and minute hands. This is driven by the hand-wound Hublot caliber HUB9015 which delivers a power reserve of 150 hours, coming from two barrels.

The Hublot MP-15 Takashi Murakami Tourbillon Only Watch comes on a transparent decorated rubber strap with flower motif and a sapphire crystal and titanium deployant buckle.
