The IWC Schaffhausen Aquatimer Chronograph Edition “La Cumbre Volcano” is a diver inspired by a volcano at the Galapagos Islands. The first IWC Schaffhausen Aquatimer was launched in 1967, it was restyled in 2014 and now three new IWC Schaffhausen Aquatimer models are released: this one, the IWC Schaffhausen Aquatimer Automatic Edition “Expedition Jacques Cousteau” and the IWC Schaffhausen Aquatimer Automatic 2000.

The IWC Schaffhausen Aquatimer Chronograph Edition “La Cumbre Volcano” (reference IW379505.) is the third model in the new collection. This diver is limited to 500 pieces and takes its name from the eponymous volcano in Fernandina at the Galapagos Islands. The IWC Schaffhausen Aquatimer Chronograph Edition “La Cumbre Volcano” has a diameter of 44 millimeters with the IWC 89365 caliber that offers a power-reserve of 68 hours.

The case is matte black with rubber-coated stainless steel, the back shows an engraving of the erupting volcano. The diver is water resistant to 30 bar and underwater the hour markers, hands and internal diver ring while light up as they have a luminous coating. The automatic chronograph has a flyback function and the diving time can be set using the mechanical, rotating bezel on the outside. This operates the position of the diver-ring inside. That is the so-called IWC Safe Dive system.
