The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar is part of the refreshment this super flat collection recently got. This collection contains a variety of versions, for example with a power reserve, with a tourbillon and a moon phase version. And many more. The one you are looking at now has a perpetual calendar and a moon phase.

The 39-millimeter case is available in 18k pink gold or stainless steel and there are three dial colors. There is an eggshell beige with tinted varnish paired with a pink gold case. And this one is also available with a bezel set with 60 diamonds. Then there is a sparkling blue sunray brushed dial, paired with a pink gold case and lastly a silvered grey sunray brushed dial that comes with a stainless steel case.

Perpetual calendar with warning system

Once you have chosen your favorite case and dial, it’s time to look at the perpetual calendar. Unlike an annual calendar that needs adjustment every month to deal with 28/29-, 30- and 31-day months, a perpetual calendar deals with that for you. So, the first manual correction for this Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar is needed in the year 2100. As that year is a non-leap-year centenary.

However, when the watch is unwound for a period, you need to adjust the calendar, always a precious job. This JLC uses a single corrector but due to the construction of the movement, you cannot do that at certain time intervals. Most movements have this, but this one helps you to remind when you can and can’t adjust.

Above the central ax is a small aperture with an indicator. It is red when you should not adjust the time or calendar indications at the times when it could damage the internal mechanism. When it’s white, you’re safe to go. A cool feature.

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar has a power reserve of 70 hours

Time and calendar run on the Jaeger-LeCoultre caliber 868 that provides a power reserve of 70 hours. It’s an evolution of its predecessor with reconstructed escapement and pallets to minimize friction and extend the power reserve. It has high-end finish and a gold skeletonized rotor with JLC logo, all admirable through the transparent case back.

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar comes on an alligator leather strap, in blue of you go for the blue dial. The strap is secured with a folding buckle when you buy the steel version, or a gold pin buckle for the gold versions.
