The Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Geographic has all the functions frequent travelers want. Instead of boggling with crown position settings and an extra single hour hand that follows another time rhythm than the regular hour hand, you can also have a full second time display. And instead of a dial that shouts the names of 24 cities of the 24 time zones in your face at the same time, you can also use a distinctive aperture that only shows what you need to know.
The Geographic has a 42-millimeter stainless steel case with an ocean-grey lacquered dial with a double gradient finish to add some visual depth. All Polaris style. The crown at 10 o’clock is the city selector for your seconds time zone. Adjust it to your city and the time in the sub dial at 6 will change accordingly. It has a stop-seconds feature for accuracy.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Geographic has a power reserve of 70 hours
Apart from the time zones, there is also a day/night indicator with 24-hour hand in a very small sub dial. It is just on the left of the second time zone and easy to read. Above that function is a larger sub dial with the power reserve indicator for the Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Geographic.
So, what most travelers will do is leave the main display of the time untouched. That one just always indicates the time where your house is. The second display at 6 is where you are. Adjusting it is a matter of seconds. The power reserve of 70 hours comes from a single barrel that drives the in-house Jaeger-LeCoultre caliber 939.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Geographic comes with two straps. A black rubber strap and a blue-grey canvas strap, easy to change. Both are secured with a stainless steel interchangeable double folding buckle.
