The Jaquet Droz The Rolling Stones Automaton Only Watch 2023 is a unique piece for the postponed 10th edition of the biennial charity auction of Only Watch. Which should take place in November 2023 but is postponed to 2024, everybody hopes. Jaquet Droz is a loyal supporter of this organization since it was first inaugurated. And for this edition they have created another striking model. With a theme that is almost as old as the brand Jacquet Droz itself: The Rolling Stones.

Executed in a white gold case, this special timepiece measures 43 millimeters with a thickness of 16.96 millimeters. It displays a dial full of various colors like yellow, pink, red, blue and green. All to match the color theme of Only Watch 2023.

If you look very close, you’ll see Mick Jagger’s harmonica

Also, it is hand-painted with artisanal skill, and its color is made of substances from natural pigments. All these colors are on the main dial and the off-center dial with the time on it. The ring around that dial is white gold too. Elements are coated with super-luminova so even in the dark there is something interesting to see.

Just under the time counter, which looks like a podium, is a black LP-shaped disc that features the Stone’s instruments. It symbolizes the first Stones records, their early concerts, and the first broken taboos. You can notice Ron Wood’s guitars and Charlie Watts’ drum kit as well as Ron Wood’s and Keith Richards’ other guitars made of gold blocks. And if you have very good eyes you will see Mick Jagger’s harmonica too.

The Jaquet Droz The Rolling Stones Automaton Only Watch 2023 has a power reserve of 68 hours

The magic starts when you push the button on the crown. The main dial starts rotating which creates psychedelic effects. It makes eight full turns, each lasting 30 seconds. The tongue logo is also on that disc and moves individually and according to the flow of the rotation. Furthermore, there is also a power reserve indicator that you can see through a cam which is positioned at 9 o’clock. It depicts the tonearm and stylus of a traditional record turntable. All simply magic. Watch all of it in the video below the specs.

Inside the The Rolling Stones time piece is an automatic Jaquet Droz caliber 2653 AT2 which can be admired through its transparent case back. It beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph with a power reserve of 68 hours, thanks to two barrels. If you don’t use it up on the automation that is. This unique piece comes on a yellow fabric strap with printed patterns in rubber, secured with an 18K white gold clasp. In case you like another Stones watch, take a look at this Zenith Pilot Type 20 GMT Tribute to the Rolling Stones. Not for sale anymore but your local dealer will help you with finding one.
