“Dead never looked so good”, according to the Swiss brand when presenting this Jaquet Droz Tourbillon Skelet Ceramic – Skull Pink Pointillism. A mouth full to show a hand-crafted black tourbillon watch with a pink skull on the dial. Using more than 3,000 dots of paint.
The skull is hand-sculpted and hand-painted on 18-karat gold using brushes of different sizes. This in order to create a sort of 3D patern that forms the skull and highlight the movement within the case. Which measures 42.3 millimeters and is from black ceramic.

If you look close, you can see the renewed figure-of-eight design of the brand, check this Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde Quantième Satin-Brushed for instance to see it more clear. The tourbillon sits at the 12 o’clock position on top, the off-centered hours and minutes are at the 6 o’clock position.
If you look even closer you might be able to see the off-centered small seconds at 12 as well. Which also tells you that it’s hard to read the time on this watch. But hey, rather see it as a piece of art then.

The movement inside is a pretty serious Jaquet Droz caliber 2625 SQ3, an automatic with a power reserve of 192 hours. It has black treatment, a silicon balance spring and pallet horns, titanium tourbillon frame, and a single barrel. Furthermore, the skeletonized oscillating weight is executed in 18-karat white gold with black treatment.
The pink rubber strap gives some sporty weight to the Jaquet Droz Tourbillon Skelet Ceramic – Skull Pink Pointillism. It has a ceramic folding clasp with black treatment. The brand will only make one piece of this “vision of time suspended between life and death”.
