Laurent Ferrier reveals another version in the Sport Auto collection, which is now in green, called the Laurent Ferrier Sport Auto 40 Serie Atelier V. It is inspired by the Porsche 935 Turbo with race number 40. We’ll come back to that. It is exclusively available on the Laurent Ferrier website and limited to 40 pieces.

The founders of the Swiss brand are Laurent Ferrier and Francios Servanin, and apart from watches they also like cars. Especially when it comes to racing. They race a lime-ish green Porsche 935 Turbo, which is a race version of a 1976 Porsche 911 Turbo. Car number 40 is used by Laurent Ferrier, Francois Servanin and Francois Trisconi for recreative racing purposes but they seem to catch some speed as their racing results are well above amateur level. The Laurent Ferrier Sport Auto 40 Serie Atelier V has a power reserve of 65 hours

The sporty watch features a 41.5-millimeter grade 5 titanium case with a tonneau-shaped bezel. The gradient green dial has an opaline finish and semi-glossy lacquer. In the center there is fuchsia decoration that forms a cross in the middle with an accent to the chamfered date aperture at 3 o’clock. There is a minute track with a green transfer in the same green shade as the middle of the dial. The orange Super-luminova on the white gold indexes and hands gives the dial some extra colorfulness. The 40-sticker of the racing car is visible at a tone-on-tone opaline white small seconds sub dial at 6 o’clock.

Inside is Laurent Ferrier’s LF270.01 caliber with an off-centred micro-rotor self-winding system. The oscillating weight is executed in 950 platinum and positioned directly between the main plate and the rotor bridge. This gives the movement of the Laurent Ferrier Sport Auto 40 Serie Atelier V more stability and more winding power, leading to a power reserve of 72 hours.
