To celebrate that this year it is 90 years ago mankind flew over the North Atlantic Ocean nonstop by plane Longines launches the Longines Lindbergh Hour Angle Watch 90th Anniversary. It is a reissue of the first Longines Lindbergh that was launched in 1931 as Charles A. Lindbergh was the pilot who made the crossing for the first time ever.

Over the years, starting in 1931 with the first model, Longines has launched several Lindbergh models. Here you can read about the history of the Longines Lindberg Hour Angle Watch. In that article, we try (yes, try) to explain how the Hour Angle watch works. Which is not very easy. In fact, it is so complicated nobody will ever use it. However, it is good to know how your watch functions. Just in case.

The Longines Lindbergh Hour Angle Watch 90th Anniversary is limited to 90 pieces

The design of this Longines Lindbergh Hour Angle Watch 90th Anniversary is not too close to the original. The size is the same as the original, 47.5 millimeters, and the functionality of the watch is similar. But the dial with its dark center isn’t completely in line with the first model or other previous models. Purists might not like it, but after so much successors a little variation is necessary.

Inside the Longines Lindbergh Hour Angle Watch 90th Anniversary is the Longines L699.2 caliber. It is based on an ETA A07.L01, an automatic with a power-reserve of 46 hours. The brown leather strap comes with a buckle with extension to wear it on a pilot jacket. Don’t forget to figure out how it works before you lift off.
