The Louis Erard Le Régulateur Tourbillon x Alain Silberstein Black might be one of the most affordable titanium tourbillon regulators on the market. Together with the earlier released version in khaki. It’s 100% Swiss made, literally every millimeter of the watch comes from Switzerland. Which means, er, well, you know where it comes from.

New for this version is the color: black. On the matt dial it supports the contrast with the red, yellow, and blue colors. Red for the hour hand and markers at 12 o’clock. The hour hand has its own pivot, not connected to the one of the minutes, that is why it is a regulator. Yellow can be found on the 5-minute markers at the edge of the dial, and it also lights-up some details of the tourbillon at 6. Including the small seconds hand on it. And Blue is for the enormous arrow-shaped minute hand. All by all a remarkable design.

Who is Alain Silberstein?

Louis Erard often collaborates with others to create new timepieces. Olivier Mosset, The Horophile, and Massena Lab to name a few. And Alain Silberstein is also one of them. Alain Silberstein is a French architect and designer who also had his own watch brand with colorful and playful designs. His style is clearly visible on this Le Régulateur Tourbillon as well.

The 40-millimeter case consists of two grades of titanium: one for the round case and connection to the strap, and one along the case, also forming the lugs. Not only the tourbillon is open-worked, also the lug-part surrounding the case shows a kind of skeletonized design.

The Louis Erard Le Régulateur Tourbillon x Alain Silberstein Black has a power reserve of 100 hours

The in-house movement, the Louis Erard caliber BCP T02, has an impressive power reserve of 100 hours. It is hand-wound, with circular decoration, and its tourbillon cage fully rotates every 60 seconds. As said before, the central ax only drives the minutes, the hours have their own ax.

The Louis Erard Le Régulateur Tourbillon x Alain Silberstein Black comes on a black nylon strap with a titanium buckle. It has a hook-and-loop fastener system for quick adjustment, and functional catch spring bars to change the strap easily.
