Another regulator by Louis Erard, this time the Louis Erard Le Regulateur x Kudoke. In French a “régulateur”, The concept is clear: a watch with three hands, each on its own axis, and an artist who adds some magic. The artist is Stefan Kudoke is a so called indie horologist or watchmaker (thus independent). He is also the first independent German master watchmaker to win the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, in 2019.

Some of his signature design features are woven into the Le Regulateur. Like the shape of the hands and the rhodium plated railway-track chapter ring & counter rings for instance. And the combination of Roman numerals and dots as hour markers and the nameplates.

Four limited editions

The are four limited editions, and in order of the reference number it start with a light blue, then a purple, a mother of pearl and a forest green version. The first and last are limited to 100 pieces, the other two are limited to 78 pieces. And to make it easy, should you want the white MOP version then the price is about 600 higher.

On top the hours are indicated, on a rhodium plated sub dial with Clous de Paris, encircled by a rhodium plated hour track. In the middle the central minute hand and at the bottom the small seconds, also with a rhodium plated track. At the flange of the dial is a rhodium plated track as well for the minutes.

The Louis Erard Le Regulateur x Kudoke has a power reserve of 38 hours

The movement of the Louis Erard Le Regulateur x Kudoke is the automatic Sellita caliber SW266-1. Normally this caliber has a date, but that has been left out by Louis Erard (so the mechanism could still be there under the dial). Sellita indicates a power reserve of 41 hours, Louis Erard communicates approximately 38 hours.

You can order this caliber at Sellita in four different grades (from D1 up to D4) or have it tailor made. Here the caliber is meticulously decorated and has an open-worked oscillating weight with black lacquered Louis Erard symbol.

This Regulateur comes on a grey, light grey or beige grained calf leather strap with tone-to-tone stitching and black leather lining. The exact color depends on the color of the dial you want. The strap is secured with a polished stainless steel pin buckle.
