The Louis Moinet Geopolis Opal is a one-off timepiece by the Swiss brand and focusses on the use of colorful opal. This, on a black background and combined with the brand’s state-of-the-art tourbillon movement. And all in a 40.7-millimeter red gold case.
The dial is executed in the gemstone onyx, here in black. This is adorned with twelve crystal opal discs. Ten surrounding the center, “in between” virtual hour markers, one bigger in the center and one bigger behind the tourbillon. It forms a kaleidoscopic color spectacle strengthened by the black background and driven by light.
The Louis Moinet Geopolis Opal has a power reserve of 96 hours
Inside the red gold case is a titanium inner case that holds the manual Louis Moinet caliber LM135. This movement has two barrel springs to provide the 96 hours of power reserve. The barrel construction is called “volte-face”, with one barrel placed upside-down over the other to simultaneously deliver energy.
The Geopolis Opal comes on a black leather strap with stiches that match the red gold case. The price of this unique piece is on request.
