The most extreme version of the Louis Moinet Memoris is back: this is the Louis Moinet Memoris Red Eclipse. An 18-carat pink gold case that is completely hand-engraved.
The Louis Moinet Memoris Red Eclipse also celebrates the bicentenary of the invention of the chronograph. A complication invented by Louis Moinet himself.
Memoris shifts the whole of the chronograph function to the dial, structuring it around three guiding principles. First locating the chronograph center stage. Then giving it a traditional clutch column wheel and finally adding a monopusher. Just like Mr Louis Moinet’s very own Compteur de Tierces, the first chronograph in history. In 1816 to be precise.

The chronograph’s action can be seen in its entirety by activating the pusher. The column wheel orchestrates the mechanism of steel and gears, passing information to the hands. The chronograph sits in isolation on the dial.
With the all new movement giving the chronograph main stage, where is the rest? To complete the picture, the watchmakers at Louis Moinet have opted to locate the traditional workings of the automatic mechanism on the back of the movement, beneath the plate. With an oscillating weight which is decorated with a red moon in gold-leaf enamel.
All this is housed in a 46-millimeter case, hand-engraved. Perhaps a bit too rich for some, but the case that consists of 52 pieces is impressive nonetheless. This Memoris Red Eclipse in pink gold is limited to 12 pieces.
