You are looking at a piece of art for timing multiple events at the same time, the MB&F LM Sequential Flyback Platinum. This watch has a double column-wheel flyback chronograph for timing consecutive events, with double chronograph seconds counters and double 30-minutes totalizers. All under a huge domed sapphire construction in a 44-millimeter platinum case with open-worked dial construction with an oversized balance wheel on top.

It’s not the first chronograph the brand created: in 2022 they released the LM Sequential EVO. A watch with a double chronograph movement executed with a “twinverter” binary switch for independent timing, and split-second, cumulative, and lap-timer modes. The new LM Sequential Flyback takes it one step further with a function coming from Pilot chronographs: the flyback function. Start and stop under one button. Reset and flyback under one button.

What does the chronograph twinverter do?

As the name implies it inverts the twin chronograph. You can divide the watch into two parts: the left and right side. Each side has its own chronograph and sub dials for elapsed seconds and a 30-minutes totalizer. And each side has its own pushers for start-stop and for reset-flyback.

The twinverter pusher at the 9 o’clock position of the MB&F LM Sequential Flyback Platinum has three functions. It inverts the left and right chronograph instantaneously and simultaneously. But is also starts both chrono’s simultaneously when it is pushed when both chrono’s are stopped. And if both chrono’s are running, the button makes them stop simultaneously.

So, this double chronograph has five pushers and one crown, for winding. Let’s not forget the watch also shows the time. At a white lacquered sub dial at the 6 o’clock position, slightly tilted to go with the bow of the domed sapphire. And at the back of the watch, you will find a power reserve indicator.

The MB&F LM Sequential Flyback Platinum has a power reserve of 72 hours

The movement is an in-house caliber designed by Stephen McDonnell, an Irishman with his own workshop in Northern Ireland. He did more calibers for MB&F and is considered to be a watch wizard. Which makes sense looking at this movement, consisting of 619 parts, with 63 jewels, fine finishing, and a double barrel to deliver 72 hours of power reserve. The sapphire case back reveals a part of the magic.

The MB&F LM Sequential Flyback Platinum comes on a black alligator leather strap with a white gold folding buckle. And this extraordinary timepiece is limited to 33 pieces. Should you be too late for an order, we expect other colors and case materials for this model in the near future.
