The Montblanc TimeWalker Chronograph Automatic is another new chronograph by Montblanc. Most of the recent Montblanc news originates from the TimeWalker collection. Partly in honor of the old Manufacture Minerva they purchased some time ago, but mainly: the TimeWalkers needed some revamping.

This is done with great care and Montblanc manages to keep the watches in a relatively modest price range. Just look at the recent Montblanc TimeWalker Chronograph Rally Timer Counter Limited Edition and the Montblanc TimeWalker Chronograph UTC. The TimeWalker Chronograph Automatic is no different.

The automatic movement is Montblanc’s caliber MB 25.07 beating at 28,800 vph, with a 46-hour power reserve. The case is made of stainless steel with an unidirectional matt ceramic bezel with 12 indexes. The dial is supposed to be accenting ‘dynamic performance’ with the contrast of white and black in the case and dial being ‘homages’ to race car instruments from yesteryear. Or, as we look at it: a minimalistic and cool dial that uses premium materials for an honest price.

The Montblanc TimeWalker Chronograph Automatic is the most affordable chronograph of the TimeWalker collection

It is mostly the details that do it for us. For example the silvery-white scales that are enhanced with a precise minute track, super-luminova coating and red 15-minute markings to ensure perfect readability on the black dial both by day and night.

Also, the chronograph’s iconic red seconds hand with a tip in the shape of the Minerva arrow stands out from the rhodium-plated dauphine hours and minutes hands. By turning the black ceramic bezel with knurled flank finish a second time can be marked.

The Montblanc TimeWalker Chronograph Automatic comes on a black rubber strap and is, like every manufacture movement, tested under the Montblanc Laboratory Test 500. A test that simulates the first year’s lifecycle of a watch. If you are looking for an even more precise Montblanc Chronograph take a look at this Montblanc TimeWalker Chronograph 1000 Limited Edition 18. About 40 times more expensive but very special.
