The Nivada Grenchen Chronosport 38 mm is a kind of retro-styled tool watch in a subtle size and comes in two versions. One with clear white super-luminova on the hands, markers and bezel dot, and one with off-white elements. Which provides the latter an extra vintage touch.

Back in the 1970s about 20 prototypes of this watch were produced, and they were not sold. But somehow, a few appeared on the market, and the brand even sold one recently. A 37-millimeter steel version with Valjoux caliber 7765. The new 38-millimeter remake gets a new ETA/Valjoux caliber 7750 and keeps this 1970s design with matt black textured dial and beige sub dials.

The 7750 movement has a power reserve of 42 hours and it’s one of the most used chronograph calibers in the world. The combination of the vintage design, with a kind of vintage movement is quite attractive, also given the price.

The Chronosport 38 mm comes on a stainless steel bracelet, however the brand also offers a variety of leather straps. The outcome is that everybody will think you wear an old Rolex-like chronograph. Nothing wrong with that.
